We're having a....

We had our first ultrasound yesterday and our little monster is a little girl! We're only 17 weeks along so she was super tiny, but we have our 20 week ultra sound in three more weeks and I'm so excited! I could have watched that ultrasound all day long! She has the cuttest little bum and feet, but her face still kind of looks like an alien lol. She was moving and spinning around a lot, and then she got the hiccups, which was pretty much the cuttest thing ever! We saw her little heart beating away and she kept touching her face!
I had to keep laughing to myself at how many people asked me "are you excited" I guess some people are dying for a little girl or little boy but we really didn't have a preference so my response was/is no more or less then before. We are just grateful that everything looked good and healthy.
I still feel like life is moving in slow motion, I feel like I should be at least 6 months along by now not just over 4, I hope time speeds up until May gets here and then goes back to slow motion so I can soak in every moment! Only 160 days left!

Heartbeat

Yesterday I had a Dr's apt, my 13 week check up. I've been worried they wouldn't hear anything and that I wouldn't really have a baby in me, so to hear our little peach sized baby's heart beat was a HUGE relief.  It seemed to only last for a second before the Dr took the mic off my belly and handed me a model of what a 12 week old fetus looks like and started talking to Kasey and I about it. The entire visit was almost surreal!

I guess I've just never been good at this kind of thing... being overly excited and/or emotional about real life. I almost feel like I'm faking my excitement for everyone else and because I don't want to sound like I don't care, because I do, just in my own quiet non vocal non teary eyed way. People say its one of the best sounds in the world and to me... well it was just a heart beat. I want to hear my baby cry and hold it, and rock it, not listen to its heart beating through a little device in my Dr's hands.

Like I said, I'm not good at being emotional. I didn't cry when I got engaged, I didn't cry when I got married, I didn't cry yesterday when we heard our babys heart beating for the first time, and I most likely wont cry {unless from pain} when the baby is born. Its just not who I am, but that doesn't mean I'm not extremely happy and excited, it just means I'm not gushy about it. So when you ask me how it was to hear the heart beat and I say "it was really nice" I literally mean it was so nice to finally hear it, but don't expect me to explode with excitement and go on and on about how amazing it was because that's simply not who I am.
So if I don't seem as excited as I "should" when you ask me about being prego or heartbeats or kicking, I'm sorry, but I am truly 100% excited.

Only 203 days left!

Today I am 11 weeks prego... people tell me "oh that's not very far you still have a ways to go" and I just want to thank them for reminding me that I still have 30 weeks of puking ahead of me! I am so excited to be having a baby, I just wish that it was May already! I feel so much better when I'm not sitting, but I have a 8-5 desk job so I sit a LOT which sucks because 90% of my day I feel like I'm on the verge of having to make a run for the bathroom. I haven't been super emotional in the crying all the time sense more in the I want to slap everyone in the face kind of way. I seriously do not understand how women can have tons of babies!!
Its hard to be excited when you're feeling crappy... I feel bad about complaining about being sick because I know it could be worse and I know that there are some woman that would give just about anything to be able to be having a baby, but at the same time I don't think anyone likes throwing up!
I put on a brave face all day at work pretending like I feel just fine when really I just want to go and lay in bed and curl up with my blankets and not move. I've tried everything I can find online, ginger, lemon, saltines, extra water, etc etc... and it almost seems like the longer I'm prego the worse I feel which is not what I've been reading, supposedly I should be starting to feel better not worse :( my next Drs apt is on the 7th, we'll get to hear the heart beat (which seems kind of late to me but whatever) and maybe he can give me something to get rid of this nausea, I know there are a couple different pills out there so we'll see what he says.

This week baby is the size of a lime! 1.6 inches long and about .25 ounces lol so tiny!
